Introduction to Theoretical Economics

The School of Economics of Hefei University of Technology was approved in 2018 to grant master’s degrees in theoretical economics and harbors research directions in economic governance and high-quality development, innovation and digital economy, green economy and sustainable development, and global economic governance and high-level openness. The curriculum of the Theoretical Economics program includes professional degree courses, such as advanced microeconomics, advanced macroeconomics, advanced econometrics, economic research methodology, economic data analysis and software application, etc., and professional electives according to various research modules. 

Educational Goals

This program aims to develop students with good political quality, a rigorous scientific attitude, and an innovative spirit who can master the solid theoretical knowledge and possess high economic professional and theoretical competence. They should be able to grasp the cutting-edge theories of the discipline, apply theoretical economic research methods to analyze practical problems in China, bridge theory with practice, and solve practical problems. The students should be well-rounded in morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and work. They should also become high-level professional talents in theoretical economics. In addition, this program lays a solid foundation for doctoral studies.
