From May 13 to 15, 2024, Sarah Lopolito, Associate Dean & Director of the Office of Global Engagement at Clark University, visited the school. School leaders, staff from the International Education Center, and teacher representatives attended the meetings.
On May 13, a symposium on the construction of the joint program was held. Dean Hong Jin extended a warm welcome to Sarah Lopolito. Vice Dean Zhuang Delin introduced the development process and talent cultivation achievements of the program. Sarah Lopolito expressed gratitude for our school’s warm reception and highly recognized the achievements of the existing cooperative education program. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on how to elevate the existing program to a new level.
On May 14, Sarah Lopolito participated in a promotional meeting for “3+1+1” program. She introduced Clark University’s learning atmosphere, teaching methods, application requirements, tuition fees, and other relevant information to students majoring in International Economics and Trade (Chinese-foreign Cooperation in Running School). Xie Jiapeng, an outstanding alumnus and representative of the “3+1+1” program, shared his experiences at Clark University, providing detailed insights into Clark’s educational quality, academic resources, and campus life, along with specific suggestions for students.
On May 15, Sarah Lopolito met with students participating in “3+1+1” program and summer program. At the meeting, students introduced themselves and asked questions about studying and living at Clark University, such as visa applications, accommodation, campus safety, dining, course schedules, academic workload, and nearby living facilities. Sarah Lopolito welcomed the students who will study at Clark University and provided detailed answers to each of their questions.
This visit by the representative from Clark University reflects mutual trust and friendship in long-term cooperation between HFUT and CLARK. It holds positive significance for advancing cooperation between the two universities in education, academic research, and cultural exchanges to a new level.
