On December 2, 2023, the first China Economic Policy Evaluation Forum was successfully held. Over 200 experts and scholars from research institutions such as the China Academy of Social Sciences, as well as more than 50 universities including Fudan University, Renmin University of China, Zhejiang University, University of Science and Technology of China, Nanjing University, Wuhan University, Xiamen University, Nankai University, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Shandong University, Central University of Finance and Economics, and Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, participated in the forum.

A total of 520 papers were submitted for this forum. After expert review by the forum committee, 69 high-quality papers were selected for on-site presentation and commentary in 10 parallel forums. The parallel forums covered topics such as open policy evaluation, fiscal and tax policy evaluation, monetary and financial policy evaluation, industrial policy evaluation, digital transformation and technology policy evaluation, green and low-carbon policy evaluation, environmental governance policy evaluation, regional policy evaluation, common prosperity and income distribution policy evaluation, and high-quality economic development policy evaluation. Experts and participants expressed that the quality of the papers presented in the parallel forums was generally high, and everyone benefited significantly from the discussions.

The forum aims to strengthen research on methods and applications of economic policy evaluation, conduct special discussions on the theoretical frontiers and practical hot issues of economic policy, and promote high-quality economic development and advance Chinese-style modernization.
