On January 8th, Vice Dean Wang Yong from the Institute of New Structural Economics at Peking University was invited to our school for guidance and academic exchanges in room1005 and 1004 of the Science and Education Building B. The meeting was host by Dean Hong Jin, and was attended by more than 40 teachers and students, including Vice Deans Zhang Xianfeng and Zhuang Delin.

At the guidance meeting, Hong Jin introduced the basic information of the school from the aspects of history, faculty team, and research achievements. Wang Yong highly praised the achievements of the School of Economics and expressed full recognition of the schools development prospects. Subsequently, Wang Yong introduced the basic situation of the Institute of New Structural Economics at Peking University and shared some of their achievements in the construction of new structural economics disciplines and academic research. Finally, the two parties conducted in-depth discussions on topics such as joint talent cultivation, discipline construction, scientific research, academic exchanges, and social services.

At the academic exchange meeting, Wang Yong introduced the basic concepts, analytical methods, and disciplinary development of New Structural Economics. He also elaborated on how to use new structural economics to conduct research in areas such as state-owned enterprise issues, industrial policies, and the digital economy. Finally, he provided an outlook on the future research directions for the development of New Structural Economics.
