The global finals of the International Public Speaking Competition (IPSC) 2025 recently concluded in London, UK. Chen Anyi, a sophomore student majoring in International Economics and Trade (Chinese-foreign Cooperation in Running Schools), represented China in the competition. His thought-provoking topic and heartfelt delivery won enthusiastic responses and high praise from the international audience, and his performance was reported by China Daily.
Founded in 1980 by the English-Speaking Union (ESU), the IPSC has become one of the most influential English speech competitions worldwide. The event not only emphasizes language expression but also highlights intellectual depth and global perspective.
This year, more than 40 young contestants from countries and regions across the world advanced to the semifinals. In February, Chen Anyi distinguished himself in the China National Selection held in Beijing and was one of only two contestants to represent China at the UK finals—becoming the first student from our university to step onto the IPSC global stage.
