Introduction of the Work:
The work, titled “Memoirs of an Egret”, tells the story about ecological protection of Chaohu Lake in Anhui Province of China from the first perspective of an egret. It is a legend of the coexistence of technology and nature, but it is more than that. The microcosm of a digital China and the fragile yet profound bond between humans and nature are shown. We can’t help but ask ourselves: What is the meaning of numbers? Is it cold data, or the love and hope hidden within? Is it the end of technology, or the reconciliation between humans and nature? Chaohu Lake has answered its fate, but what about us? When I slowly walked towards Chaohu Lake, I kept asking myself: Have you come? What generation of guardians are you?
Student Representative’s Speech:
I have always found it meaningful to share stories about my hometown with everyone. Why can truth and beauty always touch people’s hearts? They are moving because of authenticity and sincerity. Remember what you love, and you will have something to pursue. No matter how far you go, you will know where you come from, and you will not be confused.
