On the afternoon of October 9, the School of Economics held a Faculty Workshop on New Liberal Arts Development - Lecture on “Exploration and Practice of AI-Empowered Reform in Higher Education Teaching”. The school invited Pan Shoudong, Deputy General Manager of Tsinghua Xuetang Online, and Zhang Han, Senior Project Manager of Tsinghua Rain Classroom. Li Ping, Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office of HFUT, and Zhang Bingwu, Secretary of the Party Committee of the school, attended the lecture. The lecture was hosted by Liu Qing, Dean of the Department of International Economics and Trade, and was attended by faculty members from the school.
The lecture introduced and shared the AI course construction model of Tsinghua Xuetang Online, focusing on four aspects: the policy background of AI-empowered reform in higher education teaching, Tsinghua’s practical experiences, the definition of AI courses, and how to build AI courses.
After the lecture, faculty members from our school expressed that they had gained valuable insights. They had a clearer understanding of the construction of AI courses and further communicated with representatives from Tsinghua Xuetang Online on related issues.
The Faculty Workshop on New Liberal Arts Development is a training program initiated by the School of Economics. It aims to inspire faculty to consider the digital transformation to create high-quality new liberal arts courses.
